I found this story fascinating (not only for the person behind it but also the technology).
They’re now very close to finishing development & releasing even more artificial organs like kidneys, liver, pancreas, & even a lung in addition to the heart mentioned above in the video.
While I’m sure mostly these are meant to be a bridge to transplant (in some cases), it’s still great news for some people that they are so close to being released & available.
Noone, until you are in the throes of end stage disease know how hard it is to have organ failure & live with it on a daily basis.
I like how this story shows some of that aspect, but also shows the hope along with the benefits this new technology can have on quality of life in general.
