Latest Transplant Waiting List Data as of 10/23

Now, here’s an interesting infographic.  According to UNOS, as of 10/23/15 here is the breakdown of how many people are currently listed & awaiting transplants & the breakdown by organ/organ combination.

My state & center are part of Region 2.  It’s interesting to see that region’s statistics in relation to donors vs recipients, how many transplants are actually done annually, & other useful & interesting data. UNOS is such a wonderful source of information about the process but also just transplant in general.

In the United States, there are 11 geographic regions.

This is helpful for me to keep in mind as I prepare for my next follow-up next Thursday.

I’ll admit; at points it’s hard for me to believe that this time has finally come, but I couldn’t be in better hands or have better support on this journey, in all aspects of my life.

I know next week is only the start of a very long journey, but one I feel positive regarding the outcome. While I still have a good quality of life, it’s nowhere near where it was a year ago or even earlier in the year.  Yet, I’m rolling with the punches as they come as I’ve always done.

  1. Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any recommendations for beginner blog writers?
    I’d definitely appreciate it.
