One of my LAM sisters had posted this item to her Facebook wall. Some of these statistics I knew, others I didn’t, but I felt it was worth a share today. It’s extremely interesting & also has some very nice video clips.
Yet, the reality is statistics are just that. No one knows what the future holds, but in spite of the risks, the tradeoffs that most of us make for transplant are well worth it in the end to be able to breathe more freely.
I also came across this interesting news release from my transplant center that shows new inroads into the use of biomarkers & genetic variances to potentially boost outcomes even further in the future. This especially promising if it leads to advances to head off potential rejection episodes before they even have a chance to show up at the front door.
All of this gives me hope for the future & is very encouraging to me as I travel further down this road.
