As I was searching the commonwealth, er…I mean web… on Saturday I ended up venting a bit to a blogger buddy of mine (who also happens to be a doctor) about the price of a piece of medical equipment.
If only I could craft one like you can items in Fallout 4, I’d be in business. I could charge half of the going rate for these things & still make a killing in caps, er…I mean money.
First off, please allow me to say that I really greatly value a company that interacts with their users & works to be communicative. Junfeng Zhao of Accuntension has been nothing but a wonderfully customer oriented & involved founder & I sincerely appreciate that.
There was a bit of a learning curve with this device for me.
Lately I’ve been actually receiving these devices I’ve ordered through Indiegogo.
I haven’t had the chance to try out my Accutension blood pressure kit yet because the company has been promising some video updates & further instruction since I found the enclosed instructions a bit confusing. I didn’t want to review that device until I had all the possible tools & instructions available to give it a fair & honest review.
The latest device to arrive on Friday was my smart mole scanner.
While I really love my Kinsa smart stick, I am always interested in seeing how these crowdfunded devices on Indiegogo & Kickstarter perform & compare in contrast to what is presently out on the market.
I know I mentioned the company Safe Heart in my prior post about smart blood pressure & glucose monitoring devices.
I recently found out my Mobicuff is STILL is in development. I did the pre-order back in April. It’s a smart phone enabled blood pressure kit.
I know sometimes these devices take time to enhance & develop but admittedly I was a bit frustrated with the reply I did receive back from Safe Heart customer service after I followed up. They didn’t have a target date for me to receive it. I’d rather they take their time & get it right but I wish they’d be more forthcoming with email status updates to people who did place pre-orders some time ago.
Normally, I might overlook something like this article, but since I found it through HelpHOPELive (who helps manage my transplant fund), I decided to take a look (it came through their Twitter feed). I’m glad I did, because I know that even though this is not “prime time” yet, it makes me hopeful. The reason for that is, while I love what oxygen does for me, I loathe it because it is such a “shell game” & pain point both financially & practically. I can’t stand the “politics” & “business” coming in between what people really need when they need it. It’s a true headache & hassle to stay mobile as needs change & usage of this vital life gas increases with advancement of illness.
I recently found a great Kickstarter project called Dr. Poket for medication management & I did this blog post about it. But one of my support group friends/Gift of Life stay buddies posted about this IndieGoGo project the same day (on Facebook) I found this company. The company’s product account also connected with me on Twitter that same morning. I was very excited about this device too because one thing that will never go away for me – either now, or after my lung transplant – is the need to measure my lung function on a regular basis…
