Before I knew about the Transplant Hero App & PillSuite, & while I’m waiting for Dr. Poket, I found the Tricella smart pillbox.  When it came to me I decided it was too small for me to use every day. Worthwhile IndieGoGo for “Lungies”

I recently found a great Kickstarter project called Dr. Poket for medication management & I did this blog post about it.  But one of my support group friends/Gift of Life stay buddies posted about this IndieGoGo project the same day (on Facebook) I found this company. The company’s  product account also connected with me on Twitter that same morning.  I was very excited about this device too because one thing that will never go away for me – either now, or after my lung transplant – is the need to measure my lung function on a regular basis…

Pill Tracking Can Be Time Consuming – But Such Is Life… (Pre & Post Transplant)

Right now, I take about 8 different medicines to keep LAM & TSC in check as well as a few other conditions (like reflux & allergies).  One of them is an immunosuppressant commonly used in kidney transplants.  However, this is nothing compared to what I will be taking post-transplant. I thought this was a good teachable moment for people to understand one of the trade-offs that transplant recipients make & part of the reason why the after-care expenses can be a bit much…
