A Few Answers

A few months ago, my numbers were unexplainably down about 30 perecent.

After some steroid pushes & medication changes, things were still looking a bit funky & my numbers still hadn’t risen,  so I needed another bronchoscopy (scope of my lungs).

Luckily, yesterday the biopsy results came back normal.

No bad infections or things brewing in there which was a relief.

Now we move to the next phase of tests, making sure it’s not my GERD or hiatal hernia acting up.  Which it could be.

If it is, I might need surgery (because I’d then be out of medication options & all other options).

If it’s not, then I’m sure they’ll just keep narrowing from there.

It will get figured out. I know that.

Right now, I’m taking it a test at a time & focusing on eliminating problems one by one.

That’s about all I can do.

Overall, I still feel pretty strong, though this time of year is still rough with the weather transitions.

I was over a virus just in time for the bronchoscopy, & I’m hoping that I can get back to a regular exercise routine again after the next few days after having to take a few weeks off from being sick & not feeling well.

Hard to believe that on 11/2 it will be 11 months since the transplant.

I still just take it day by day.

Finally, in January I will be eligible for Medicare which should help things too.

Though with these proposed budget cuts I fear what it will mean.

I can’t think about that too hard right now though, just have to focus on protecting these “super” lungs.

Luckily, I’ll also have a writing project to pleasantly distract me.

Which reminds me, I still have to reach out to a few more people about that.

  2. Some years ago, my mom ended up having to have her stomach wrapped around her esophagus a few times to get her GERD to calm down. She was sleeping at home the first night after returning home from the laparoscopic surgery (6 incisions) and she heard their big, white cat getting ready to pounce from the bedside table onto her, which was the norm, but she didn’t want him landing on her incisions. So she thought she’d try to block him with her hand/arm. Unfortunately, she ended up missing the cat and punching our stepdad in the face instead, who was peacefully sleeping until that moment.

Fingers crossed for continued cooperation. ❤
